Cemetery | Truchas, New Mexico

truchascemetary2.jpg

Canon A630
Truchas is a charming town on the High Road between Santa Fe and Taos. This small cemetery along the road outside of the town appealed to me because of the setting. Wide open space, mountains in the background, fields of flowers...so different from a cramped New York cemetery.

I remembered to step away to keep my shadow out of the picture, totally forgetting that the tripod was creating a shadow as well. But I like the effect...like a ghost snapped this one.

I thought Taos was pretty boring. In infrared it actually appeared interesting.

Bandelier National Monument | New Mexico

Before heading to New Mexico, I noted that I saw VERY few good photos of Bandelier online. I wasn't sure why, but it turned out that if I couldn't get good photos out of professionals, I shouldn't expect too much either. I can't put my finger on it...maybe it's the lighting...but I found Bandelier difficult to shoot well. Infrared saved the day. Suddenly, good shots were much easier to get.

Jemez Mountain Trail | New Mexico

One of many stops along the road the road to pull over and have a picnic. As a designated scenic byway, Jemez makes it quite easy on drivers who want to take many photos.
