WORLD CUP OWLS
Created with Puzzlebox Art Studio for World Cup 2014. Directed design for staff artists to follow, two designs per country. I did this through Illustrator designs, showing staff how to search logos online and mix accurate paint colors.

The owls are a play on a traditional Burmese toy called "pyit tine htaung", loosely translated as "won't stay down when thrown." Pyit tine htaungs are regarded a symbol of strength through adversity. At Puzzlebox, we hand-formed paper-mache pulp to make the owls and painted individual designs in acrylic. We had about 16 standard styles and a few special styles, including abstract black & white designs and wedding designs, until we embarked on these custom-made World Cup designs.
