Santo Domingo pueblo holds a big Arts & Crafts market every Labor Day weekend. Normally pueblos either forbid photography completely, charge a fee, or allow photography except for during ceremonial dances. Not sure why this was an exception, but the office confirmed I could take photos.
The market was actually cut short that day because the dance was meant as a request for rain, and it rained really hard! This photo was actually taken after the rain left giant puddles all over the market grounds...the dancing continued but the artisans were instructed to pack up their stalls.
