Despite appearances, this was along one of the busy main roads in town.

Don't remember if this was the champion or loser.
I'm a little amazed I haven't posted anything in two months. I've started to realize I've become a little weary of the finishing process of film-shooting; namely, cleaning up the scanned photos. Since moving to Thailand I've taken more digital photos than I ever have in my life, thanks to working with two small, creative orgs that need constant online documentation to get attention. The shooting process and results are dissatisfying, as I'm still using a P&S (albeit a nice one), but the quickness of seeing the results and the 15 seconds of color-correction per photo before uploading...sigh. It's pretty great.
Which doesn't mean I'm not shooting ye ol' OM-2N. No, I brilliantly--brilliantly!--just keep shooting film, piling up rolls, eventually developing and scanning, and then nothing. The files sit on my hard drive for ages, unedited. I need to get motivated somehow.

Just another day in the neighborhood.
I don't communicate well in Burmese and not at all in Thai, so I am still not sure if this was a scrimmage for funsies, or testing out a potential sale. Nothing really happened after this (as in, didn't see an exchange of money or chickens), but there were definitely no other spectators at 8AM so I assume it wasn't a "real" fight.

Cleaning is so much fun when you're not really responsible for it!

Police statues, figurines and dolls seem popular in Thailand for some reason.

Another intriguing shrine. Why so many yogurt containers, and non-Asian mini-people?

The shrines around temples can be quite fascinating. Not sure what the deal is with these tiny figures, or at other sites, juice boxes.
