Weighing garlic for sale. Normally this couple would sell at a market but since we happened to be at their home, our guide asked if he could buy some.

Most of the women had never tried yoga before, and spent each session laughing at themselves.

The older children of Du Pla Ya dormitory, sponsored by Women with a Mission, chat after lunch. 60 children live at this dormitory.
The refugee camp rations only cover breakfast and dinner. There are small restaurants in the sprawling camp-cum-town, but of course only those who can afford to pay extra for lunch do so.

One of the huge refugee camps near Mae Sot, home to more than 17,000 Burmese refugees. Two weeks ago three sections of the camp--the Muslim sections--suffered a devastating fire. These are people who'd already lost their home inside Myanmar, who weren't allowed to use sturdier, less-flammable building materials in Thailand--as camps are supposed to be temporary--who then lost whatever homes they'd re-created.
We've done a lot of fundraising in Mae Sot to help with 2,500 refugees' loss of clothes, food, housewares. Funding of these items were split between NGOs that don't have an easy-to-designate online donation process. But anyone outside of the area who wants to help, can donate to Thai-Burma Border Consortium, which is taking care of the rebuilding of homes.
