I forgot to ask what the hell this car was about.

"En esta casa queremos una vida libre de violencia hacia las mujeres."—A stencil created by the local women's org in Suchitoto.

Families can take a stand against domestic violence by simply agreeing to have this stencil painted outside their doors. Considering how easy it is to do so, there were surprisingly few homes with this sign outside.

Robert and Frank--who discovered each other in Suchitoto running similar scholarship/loan programs--speak to a student about his options for further education. He is an 11th grader (black pants as opposed to khaki), which is the final year in the Salvadoran school system.

I tagged along with Robert Broz of El Rinconcito del Gringo to visit a school in Suchitoto's surrounding area. Robert provides great support for education in rural El Salvador, previously providing scholarships for students at all levels.

In the last year, tuition through high school finally became free for all students, which allowed Robert to focus on college loans. This afternoon he spoke to the 10th and 11th graders of this school about a college fair he's organized, encouraging them to come and learn more.

Students in formation--which is not as strict as it sounds. And it's really asking too much for students not to peek at the chinita with a camera.

So it took longer to walk here than I expected, and I was on limited time that morning. I didn't get too much further than this view...to the sign for the boat launch, but not down to the actual boats.
